About Mocona

Since 2016 we organise events for young people. After doing that with the association Move Switzerland, we founded an independent association in 2020. Mocona was created with the clear focus for longer projects; for example "The Mocona Gatherings".

The mission of Mocona is to create event formats that promote interpersonal exchange and community ties through movement, sport and play, and convey sustainability towards natural resources.
Mocona places particular emphasis on co-creation of the events, which allows participants to take responsibility in the day-to-day infrastructure and catering tasks, as well as in the design of the program. We invite all participants to actively contribute with their ideas.

Exploring cocreation

We want to create a space where everyone can bring in their potential and passion. As we don't want to organise an event where there is a program to "consume", we focus on what structural and organisational frame is needed to co-create together.

Participative

In our community-driven events each person is invited to bring and share their own project, art, music, ideas, games, practice, experiments. Therefore we invite and empower self discovery and self development.

No hierarchy

For us it is an important orientation to look for a flat organisation. We are exploring how to move beyond the categories “organiser, workshop teacher or participant…” Everybody is a co-creater and contributes where it is possible. We are sharing a sense of responsibility among all of us.

Welcoming

It is important to us to make our events financially accessible for everyone. Therefore we have reached more than 300 young people from all over Europe so far. New platforms have been self-created after the gatherings, in order to keep the people of Mocona connected.
